Rare Water’s Value Added Service offering is underpinned by the principle of Life Cycle Costing which weighs the initial cost of a product or service against long term benefit to ensure that the client gains the maximum use out of a product or service at the least possible overall cost. The company to this end provides a range of services covering various aspects of pipeline design and operation.
Services include basic assistance with pipeline design and implementation through to advanced services such as remote pump and pipe component monitoring. Included are turnkey pipeline refurbishment, power management and pressure management projects.
All services are aimed at the efficient design of new pipelines and maximizing the performance of existing systems through the application of the least intrusive or maximum financially beneficial solution for the client.
Power Management
Rare Water’s services cover the remote monitoring of pumps, interpreting the performance through proprietary software, and providing relevant cost/ benefit analysis, in addition to complete turnkey projects. Services include:
-Pump Audits
This is a service carried out to define the current status of the pump and make recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs by providing a cost/benefit study.
Rare Water can at a nominal monthly or annual fee continually monitor the operation of a pump system and make recommendations on pipeline system improvements.
-Turnkey Power Management Projects
Under this option Rare Water will audit the pump and design and implement the recommended improvements to the pump station and/or pipeline. In addition, Rare Water will, where the application falls under the scope of ESKOM’s DSM initiative, assist the client in the applying for an ESKOM subsidy.
Pipeline Life Cycle Costing Analysis and Implementation
Rare Water in joint venture arrangements with specialists in various aspects of pipeline performance enhancement and operation cost reduction technologies, can provide a complete turnkey solution to the improvement of entire network systems. Services include Surge Protection, Pipeline Relining, Flow Enhancement and Pressure Management.
Surge and Water Hammer and Pipeline Component Sizing
Rare Water can assist the consulting engineer and/or end user in defining the most appropriate surge protection strategy and/ or the correct sizing and positioning of components such as air valves, check valves and control valves.
Training
Attached to Rare Water’s service offering is a comprehensive range of training programmes on basic pipeline design, product selection and other aspects of pipeline component design and operation. Training can be tailored to suit the client’s needs and dependant on the level and content will include not only Rare Water's team of trainers but also experts from various fields of pipeline design and operation.
Project Management
Rare Water draws on the vast experience and expertise of the RARE Group in the field of Project Management and Rare Water's own field service expertise, integrating the group’s resources with the customer’s needs and objectives to ensure cost and time savings on any project it undertakes.
